Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, I am currently accepting telehealth clients in Rhode Island and Vermont.

  • I am currently only offering telehealth.

  • We’ll talk through what brought you in, go over relevant background, and start outlining the focus of our work together. It’s a chance to begin narrowing in on what matters most.

  • The first intake session is 75 minutes to allow time for us to review your history, clarify what you're hoping to work on, and begin setting a direction for our work together. After that, standard appointments are 50 minutes.

If you are a parent/guardian of a minor and 75-minutes will be too long for them, you can request a 50-minute intake appointment.

  • I am currently in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield.

For all other insurance plans, I am considered an out-of-network provider. I can provide you with a detailed monthly receipt (called a Superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Reimbursement rates and eligibility vary widely depending on your specific plan. To find out whether you have out-of-network mental health benefits, I recommend calling your insurance provider directly.

Confused about out-of-network reimbursement? Read more about this process here.

Note: I reserve a limited number of spots in our practice for sliding scale that are granted based on availability and need.

  • I accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as most HSA and FSA cards. If your HSA/FSA card cannot be processed directly, I can provide a receipt (superbill) for reimbursement.

Payment is collected via secured payment processing software at time of appointment.

  • I ask that cancellations be made at least 24 hours in advance.

If something comes up on short notice:

    • The first late cancellation won’t be charged.

    • The second is billed at the full session rate.

    • The third, we’ll check in about continuing therapy.

  • Most clients start with weekly sessions, which creates a reliable pace for making progress and navigating what’s coming up between meetings.

I also offer biweekly appointments depending on your goals and what feels manageable.

Monthly sessions are considered on a case-by-case basis, as some concerns are difficult to work through with longer gaps between sessions.

If you ever need to pause therapy, just let me know and we’ll come up with a plan that makes sense!
